APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR TO THE AVENG BOARD
In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, the Aveng
Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Bridgette Modise as an independent non-
executive director to the Aveng Board with effect from 1 November 2019. In addition, Ms
Modise has been appointed to the Audit & Risk Committee and the Social, Ethics and
Ms Modise, a Chartered Accountant and a CIMA graduate has served as a non-executive
director on several listed and unlisted boards including Sun International, PPC, UNISA SBL,
Nestlife, Tellabs SA, Coriant, Kanhym and Astron Energy (Caltex). She is a former partner at
KPMG where she spent 10 years with core competencies in internal and external audit, risk
management, corporate governance and consulting. Previous work experience includes Absa,
BASF and KMMT.
Having gained invaluable board experience during her tenure as a non-executive board
member and member of the audit committee at Sun International, Ms Modise gained specific
experience in the construction industry as a non-executive board member and chair of risk and
compliance at PPC. During her tenure she was part of the board that embarked on an
expansion strategy and developed several cement plants into the rest of Africa and served as
the chair of the board of Nestlife.
The Board looks forward to Ms Modise's contributions to Aveng.
