RESIGNATION OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE BOARD

The board of directors of Implats (“the board”), in compliance with section 3.59 of the JSE Listings
Requirements, announces the resignation of Paul Dunne as an executive director of the board with immediate
effect, following his decision to step down as Group Executive: Operations.

Paul joined Implats in 1987 and was appointed as the General Manager: Mineral Processes in 2000. In 2009 he
was promoted to Group Executive: Operations. In this role, his responsibilities encompassed the South African
mining and processing operations. In 2010 he was appointed as an executive director to the board.

The board thanks Paul for his valuable contribution during his tenure with the Implats Group and wishes him
well in his future endeavours.

Shareholders are advised that executive management and the board are engaged in a process to finalise the
appointment of a new head of operations for Rustenburg and will make an announcement in due course.
