TRADING STATEMENT

Shareholders are advised that Implats’ headline earnings per share (HEPS) for the
financial year ended 30 June 2013 are expected to be between 308 and 343 cents
which is between 50% and 55% lower than that of the financial year ended 30 June
2012 (HEPS of 685 cents). This is due to operational performance at Impala
Rustenburg, above inflation cost increases and impairments of R1.3 billion of long-
term receivables (excluding the goodwill impairment referred to below).

Basic earnings per share (EPS) are expected to be between 145 and 179 cents
which is between 74% and 79% lower than the previous comparable period, being
the year ended 30 June 2012 (EPS of 690 cents). The expected decrease in EPS is
a result of the impact of the above-mentioned factors as well as the write-down of
approximately R1 billion of goodwill resulting from the African Platinum plc
acquisition concluded in the 2007 financial year.

The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been
reviewed and reported on by the external auditors of Implats.

The Company’s audited year end financial results for the period ended 30 June 2013
will be released on 29 August 2013.
