RESIGNATION OF A DIRECTOR                                                       
Implats announces the resignation of Mr. Steve Phiri as a non-executive         
director of the board of directors of Implats ("the Board") with immediate      
effect.  Mr Phiri was appointed onto the Board in June 2007 as a nominee of     
Royal Bafokeng Holdings (Pty) Limited.                                          
The Board expresses its appreciation to Mr Phiri for his contribution during    
his tenure and wishes him well in his future endeavours.
