RESIGNATION OF A DIRECTOR
Implats announces the resignation of Dr. Fred Roux as an independent non-
executive director of the Board with immediate effect. This resignation
follows discussions in the aftermath of Dr. Roux`s replacement as Chairman.
Both the Company and Dr. Roux regret the circumstances and publicity
surrounding that event and have agreed to go their separate ways, in good
faith, with mutual respect and with no further comment than is contained in
this announcement. The Board of Directors thanks Dr. Roux for the dedication
and commitment he displayed during his five years as Chairman and wishes him
well in the future. Dr. Roux will be paid a gratuity of R1,6m for past
service which payment does not impose any restraint of trade on him
whatsoever. Dr. Roux wishes Implats well in the future.
