In an article by
Jeanette Clark in Sake-Burger of 31 January 2007, a
prominent economist postulates that there may not be
enough black professionals to comply with the
numbers required by the still to be published new
broad based black economic empowerment initiative.
Dr. Azar Jammine,
chief economist of Econometrix Treasury Management,
is quoted as saying that only 700 of the
approximately 24 000 qualified CA's are black. Of
the 25 117 matrics who passed with an exemption only
5000 are black.
Education which
should address this problem is heading for a crisis;
we need 21 000 new teachers every year just to keep
the teacher to pupil ratio as it currently is, yet
only 5 000 new ones are added every year. By 2008
there will be a shortage of 32 000.
The new BBBEE
codes were approved by parliament in December and
was due for publication in January, but this has now
been moved forward to February.
On a slightly
lighter note; we hear that Mr. Tony Yengeni,
received a new 4 x 4; he only served four months of
a four year sentence for not disclosing an
abnormally high discount on a vehicle that he
bought.

Vermiste Moonstone Publikasies
Sommige
So
Daar is
diensverskaffers is.
As u
wil hê, laat my asseblief dadelik weet.
Heelwat
lesers ontvang hierdie publikasies via 'n tussenganger,
In hierdie

David Logan wrote
to us when he did not receive his Investment
Indicators. We sorted out his problem, and he
replied as follows:
Thanks Paul, and I mean it when I say I miss the
weekly issue. I thrive on good humour and, at
present, anyone in the financial services industry
has to have a sense of humour. So thanks for a truly
inspiring, uplifting and very useful and informative
publication.
He attached some
examples of the humour that he enjoys; quips from
British comedian Tommy Cooper - enjoy.
A blind bloke walks into a shop with a guide
dog. He picks the dog up and starts swinging it around
his head. Alarmed, a shop assistant calls out: “Can I
help, sir?” “No thanks,” says the blind bloke, “just
looking."
I was getting into my car, and this bloke says
to me: "Can you give me a lift?" I said: "Sure, you look
great, the world's your oyster, go for it.'"
I went to the dentist. He said "Say Aaah." I
said "Why?" He said "My dog's died.'"
Police arrested two kids yesterday, one was
drinking battery acid, the other was eating fireworks.
They charged one and let the other one off.
