IT Support Technician

Profile Group has an opening in the company's IT Support and Infrastructure Department. We are looking for a talented IT support technician to join our team to take care of our on-site and off-site support and hardware, which comprises of desktop computers, servers and other network devices and also provide first-level support.

Job Specification

  • Resolving IT support requests from employees and customers.
  • Answering questions or resolve computer problems for employees.
  • Gathering and analyzing data to diagnose problems with computer systems.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
  • Changing configurations, settings and permissions to fix computer issues.
  • Installing new software and hardware drivers and updating existing ones as needed.
  • Updating employees and customers on the status of their service requests.
  • Answering questions and resolving customer queries via telephone, electronically and remotely.
  • Resolving logged issues or problems in a timely manner.
  • Repairing and replacing damaged computer and network components.
  • Documentation of common technical issues and solutions (Knowledge Base).
  • Assisting Unit Trust Research department with sourcing and capturing factsheets (MDDs) into the database.

  • High-level knowledge of commonly used software, hardware and applications.
  • Strong oral communication skills to gather information from employees or customers and explain complex technical concepts in simple language.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills to create useful support logs.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and diagnose issues.
  • Time management skills to provide updates and fixes within a promised time frame.
  • Multitasking skills to assist multiple employees and customers at once.
  • Observational skills to recognize warning signs that indicate potential problems.
  • Customer service skills to interact professionally and positively with employees, co-workers and customers.
  • Paying attention to details.

Qualifications & Experience

National Diploma in IT or equivalent.
