Unit Trust Researcher

Profile Group has an opening in the company's Research Department.

The position involves management of Profile's FundsData™ database, a leading information resource on unit trusts and collective investment schemes.

Job Specification

  • Maintaining accurate unit trust fund data and information.
  • Preparing material for print & checking proofs for Profile's Unit Trusts & Collective Investments Handbook.
  • Generating a variety of reports according to set standards and prescribed guidelines.
  • Checking fund calculations for accuracy in an efficient and effective manner according to set standards.
  • Proactively identifying problems, and applying known solutions.
  • Planning for task execution and adjusting priorities against an established plan.
  • Performing quality control checks on the database.
  • Resolving client queries and communicating with management companies on any matters relating to their respective unit trusts.

Skills and Competencies

This position will suit a candidate who:

  • Is able to work accurately and strives for excellence

Profile Data has an opening in the company's Equity Research Department.

The position involves management of Profile's ShareData™ database, a comprehensive financial information resource on all listed companies on the JSE, A2X, CTSE, EESE and NSX exchanges.

Job Specification

  • Conducting financial and equity research into listed companies
  • Managing and monitoring Corporate Research South Africa database, forecast database and ShareData Online website
  • Analysing and interpretation of financial statements, financial reports, ratio calculations, exchange rate computations, directors' dealings and SENS notes
  • Sourcing, collating and verifying information on listed companies from SENS, annual reports etc.
  • Compilation, proof reading and editing functions for Profile's Stock Exchange Handbook
  • Preparing, analysing and managing data received for shares, currencies, bonds and indices; as well as checking, correcting and updating dividend and earnings yields
  • Capturing and executing corporate actions — performing share consolidations, splits and unbundlings; as well as listing and delisting companies
  • Establishing and managing relationships with companies and attending to queries from clients timeously and diligently

Sales Manager

Financial Data and Information based Products and Solutions

Profile Group is South Africa's leading financial data supplier and publisher of Equity and Unit Trust information. Data sales activity goes beyond the norm and the group requires a dynamic free thinker to manage a team of sales personnel with strong personalities.

A mix of traditional data and financial information, and new age electronic based product makes up an interesting portfolio of products and clients.

The candidate would do well to have a B degree, a depth of sales experience and an interest in investments such as shares and unit trusts. An understanding of other investments products as well as understanding the power of electronic data supply and distribution solutions would be added advantages.

Key responsibilities will include strategies to promote and increase product sales to existing clients as well as opening doors to new customers and institutions.

The incumbent will report to Exco on a result driven strategy which will include product forecasts, solution based staff management and regular client follow up.

Planning

  • Plan sales strategy within management guidelines.

  • Setting budgets and targets;

  • Recruiting required staff;

The position involves the sales of advertising into the Profile Group's publications as well as websites.
