Invesco GT Launches a Global Theme Fund

Invesco GT has gained FSB approval to market its Worldwide Dynamic Theme Fund and is offering a special discount on the initial charge for those who invest in the fund before 31 May 2001.
Investors who take advantage of the offer period will pay an upfront charge of 4.25% compared with the standard initial fee of 5.25%.
Brokers also stand to gain as Invesco is paying 4% commission.
The fund is based on its highly successful UK onshore fund which has achieved excellent results in the past. The managers have identified five mega-trends: technological innovation, falling barriers, globalisation, demographic change and lifestyle choice.
They say these significant trends provide the overriding framework for investment by global sector rather than by geographic region.
"They are broad in reach, prolonged and substantial in impact, and transcend national and geographic boundaries".
Having identified these trends, the managers have selected six sectors which they believe will benefit most. These are: technology, telecommunications, healthcare, financial services, leisure and energy/natural resources.
The UK onshore fund on which this fund is based has enjoyed an excellent track record. It is frequently recommended by British financial advisers as a good alternative to a pure tech fund as its exposure to the tech market is balanced by investments in other areas.

During the quarter, Invesco launched a dedicated South African web site and a Freephone number.
The site http:www.invesco.co.za carries daily updated fund prices and regular market reports,among other information.
The new Freephone number is 0800 43 80 80.
This number can be used for any purpose (dealing, administration, literature requests or general enquiries). When calling the number, it will automatically be diverted to Invesco's International Sales Desk in London at no cost to the caller.
