Focus and Objective
This is a growth-oriented fund investing predominantly in large and mid-sized US companies, although there may be some smaller-company exposure. The fund will maintain a broad diversification of both sector and style. Risk is monitored through strict sector and stock controls, combined with a rigorous sell discipline. The team uses top-down analysis from the HSBC Global Investment Strategy Group and combines this with bottom-up research by fund managers and analysts. The business cycle, demographics, competitive environment and growth prospects are all assessed to identify the sectors and stocks that will benefit most from identified trends. The ultimate aim is to find stocks that offer good earnings prospects at reasonable valuations.
