Focus and Objective
This is a growth-oriented fund investing in US companies. Investments will be concentrated in 40 to 60 large and mid-sized companies, although there is the flexibility to invest significantly in smaller companies. The fund will maintain a broad diversification of both sector and style. Risk is monitored through strict sector and stock controls, combined with a rigorous sell discipline. The team uses top-down analysis from the HSBC Global Investment Strategy Group and combines this with bottom-up research by fund managers and analysts. The business cycle, demographics, competitive environment and growth prospects are all assessed to identify the sectors and stocks that will benefit most from identified trends. The ultimate aim is to find stocks that offer good earnings prospects at reasonable valuations.
