Focus and Objective
|
The aim of the Irish Life International US$ Liquid Reserve Fund is to achieve a return in line with the US dollar 1 month Treasury Bill index by investing in stable short-term money market instruments. Capital preservation is the most important consideration for this fund.
The objective of the fund is achieved by investing all of the assets of the fund into short-term money market and other interest rate instruments including short-term notes mainly denominated in US$ to minimise any potential currency risk. Since the fund is denominated in USD, if it invests in non-USD assets, it runs the risk of suffering capital losses. The fund manager's will attempt to maximise the yield on the assets subject to the primary consideration of capital preservation.
